This 14 tonne truck is the type needed
As a part of becoming self-funded we have secured a verbal agreement with the manager of transport at the local Mazabuka sugar mill and refinery. To date Zambia Sugar has played an active role in Community Development, the company owns a large estate where most of the sugar is grow, they have several large towns in the estate around the mill.
The Zambia Sugar Community Development Officer is a member of OK’s Zambia board.
They have helped around the orphanage home with a team of workers to replace windows, fix plumbing, fences and everything that needs fixing at there own expense.
The transport manager has said he will draw up a long term contract to transport their products to various clients within Zambia as soon as we are ready to purchase a 10 to 15 ton truck, the freight is paid by weight, so bigger is better.
We need your help to raise the funds needed to purchase a reliable truck, we estimate $35,000 AUD will be sufficient. The cheapest way is to buy from a Japanese exporter and ship it to Dar-es-Salaam (Tanzania) and drive it to Zambia, our manager in Zambia has been importing vehicles for some time and is familiar with the procedure.
We are close to the end of the long procedure of being import duty exempt and hope to have our certificate soon.
This is a wonderful opportunity to more than cover running costs and then steadily implement all the Community Development projects......See future projects.
